Swainson's Warbler

 

 

The Swainson's warbler is olive to brown above and whitish beneath. It has a pointed bill, rufous brown cap, a broad pale-white eyebrow and blackish eyeline. The length of Swainson's warbler is about 5 inches (13cm). The warbler eats mostly insects such as small beetles, ants and spiders.  The Swainson's warbler arrives in Missouri in late April and depart by mid-September.  The length of Incubation is 13-15 days and the days to fledge is usually 10-12.

The breeding habitat for the warbler includes canebrakes, swamps, and thickets in moist woods.  Breeding sites are along the upper White River and Black River drainages, and in forests outside the levee along the Mississippi River in the Mississippi Lowlands.
