| Steve N. Wilson,
veteran director of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, has
been given the prestigious Seth Gordon Award of the International
Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. The Seth Gordon Award,
the top tribute among professional fish and wildlife
administrators, was presented in Scottsdale, Arizone, at the
Association’s annual conference.
Wilson, Game and Fish director since 1979, was cited for his
achievements with the Arkansas agency through the years but
especially for his leading rolfe in the successful passage of a
state constitutional amendment last November to create a
conservation sales tax. It is for the use of four state natural
resource agencies - Game and Fish, Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas
Heritage Department and Keep Arkansas Beautiful.
