Personnel of the
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Tennessee Department of
Environment & Conservation are preparing to co-host the Fifth
Annual Meeting of the Lower Mississippi River Conservation
Committee. A $20 registration fee will be charged for the meeting
which will be held April 14-15, 1998 at the Holiday Inn Memphis
East in Memphis, Tennessee. Guest speakers at the 1998 LMRCC
meeting will be Steve Ellis (Corps of Engineers Mississippi River
Master Plan) and Steve Cobb (Potential for Integrating Aquatic
Resource Restoration Activities into the Corps Master Plan) of the
Mississippi Valley Division of the Army Corps of Engineers. Ted
Crowell, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, will
discuss the LMRCC Aquatic Resource Management Plan. An open forum
will be conducted on how the LMRCC Aquatic Resource Management
Plan Committee can be effectively integrated with the Corps of
Engineers Master Plan.
Fisheries and Water Quality Technical Section meetings will
begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, and run through the end
of the day. Dinner Tuesday night will be at the Rendezvous. The
LMRCC Executive Committee Meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m.,
Wednesday, April 15.
